Knowlton church was once a thriving village before the black death in 1485 nearly wiped out everyone. Knowlton church was built in the 12th century, and despite the epidemic of the black death, the church continued in use until the 18th century. around 1746 there was a fire, and in 1747 the church was given a new roof, which didn't take long for it to fall in. The church was then left to ruin.
